Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, Emma enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma was just six when she made the decision to be an actor. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. When she was 10 years old, Emma took part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. In 1999 casting began in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having eight consecutive auditions. Emma's first film appearance coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). This film was 2001's highest production, and it broke records during the opening day as well as the first weekend. Critics gave high praise to the film, and especially those who were young. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later in the film.
